Gene Robinson: No Clergy Permission to Perform Same-Sex Weddings

Contrary to a published report, the Rt. Rev. V. Gene Robinson, Bishop of New Hampshire, has not given permission for diocesan clergy to perform same-sex marriage ceremonies. New Hampshire Governor John Lynch signed legislation June 4 that made the state the sixth to legalize same-sex marriage.

    Well, no; that would be WRONG. Same sex as well as all other types of couples are to remain shacked up whether for a night, an hour or years on end. After all, the one night stand stands for SOMETHING doesn’t it? Funny how it almost seems like you could logically infer that once it’s “Allowed”, all those couples will naturally avail themselves of the newly minted sacrament. Ah, but the one that’s been there awhile, normal marriage, is ignored isn’t it? How utterly lame, that while real marriage is considered trivial and strictly optional, that completely fake marriage is seen as greatly important. What other normal things are to be officially degraded to please the 1% before being discarded once they are granted? Answer: whatever suits them for the next hour or so.

    It is interesting that he doesn’t even support his own cause. Maybe his conscience is finally getting to him.
